Cowboy Shootout
Electro-Mechanical Game
ME30 Final Project
The Game
Inspired by the wild wild west, my 2-player game consists of two cowboys in a duel against each other. Each player has a laser pointer and a receiver mounted to their cowboy and sitting across from each other, the players slide their cowboys left and right to shoot around the terrain (rocks, cacti, barrels, etc.). The cowboys are mounted on a rail system and controlled via a handle and trigger underneath the game board.
In the event of a hit, the shot cowboy’s LED will light up on the sign and the center disc will rotate, changing the terrain and creating a new environment for the players to experiment with.
The game is constructed with a combination of laser cut plastic/wood and 3d prints and controlled via a raspberry pi pico. The firmware is written in the Arduino IDE.
